This week marks the beginning of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) 2024 Convention in Chicago. The organization recently announced a special press conference that will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am at the Swissotel Hotel. The event aims to discuss the role of naturopathic medicine in the healthcare landscape and the current challenges it faces.

Speakers at the press conference will include AANP President Dr. Kasra Pournadeali, Dr. Shaon Hines, President of the Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and Laura Farr, AANP Executive Director. They will address the barriers in naturopathic medicine, particularly in relation to opposition from organizations such as the American Medical Association (AMA).

This is a unique opportunity for you to engage directly with licensed naturopathic physicians, each of whom has completed a rigorous four-year, in-person medical education,” said AANP Communications Director, Taryn Ernest in a statement. “Physicians will be available for interviews and to answer any questions you may have about the principles and practices of naturopathic medicine.”

The conference will focus on the commitment of naturopathic physicians to holistic, individualized, and patient-centered care that integrates both natural and conventional treatments. In the announcement, AANP said members of the press and interested parties are invited to attend the informative event.
